Practical Safety and Health Solutions, LLC

Susen Trail is an Industrial Hygienist who founded Practical Safety and Health Solutions, LLC in 2015. She focuses on general industry and construction businesses with the goal of helping them create a safe workplace.

Susen also provides assistance so that they can be compliant with guidelines from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and this is important.

Meet Susen Trail of Practical Safety and Health Solutions, LLC! She has an office for lease in Appleton at 500 Franklin Street.

Employees tend to feel more comfortable doing their jobs in a safe place. But, a safe work environment also helps business owners avoid unexpected production delays, quality control issues, and high employee turnover. And when you are OSHA-compliant, you can don’t need to worry about expensive and unnecessary surprise fines.

This is one of the reasons Susen began her career as an OSHA consultant in Colorado.

Then, after several years helping many businesses in this position, she accepted a new job at the Department of Commerce. Here, she enforced OSHA standards and Wisconsin codes in public-sector workplaces.

This meant she was able to do what she loved to do and move closer to Wisconsin, which she called home!

During this time, she also conducted Worker’s Compensation Accident investigations for the Department of Workforce Development.

Then, after a few years as an Interim Chemical Hygiene Officer, she opened her consulting business here in Appleton.

 

Experience and Education

Since 1998, Susen has been certified as an Industrial Hygienist by the American Board of Industrial Hygienists, but she also:

  • Earned an AS in Molecular Biology;

  • Graduated with a BS in Zoology from Michigan State University;

  • Earned an MS in Industrial Health from the University of Michigan;

  • Has been the Wisconsin Section American Industrial Hygiene Association, AIHA, Board Director; and

  • Currently serves on a national AIHA committee on the creation of mobile apps for data analysis.

Unity Recovery Services

Founded in 2018, Unity Recovery Services is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization whose mission is to create opportunities for individuals in and seeking recovery from addiction and behavioral health issues. We provide recovery advocacy, outreach, and education services to community partners; and deliver peer-based recovery support services to individuals and families throughout Outagamie, Winnebago, Waushara and surrounding counties.

Unity’s new Fox Valley office will serve as their corporate headquarters; and will also be home base for our Fox Valley PRISM Team. The PRISM (Peer-based Response, Information, Support, and Maintenance) Team is comprised of certified recovery coaches and peer specialists with lived recovery experience, who act as faces and voices of recovery in their communities and guide those who are new to the recovery process. This new Peer Recovery Center gives the team a place to meet with people they are supporting, as well gather supplies, do reporting, and collaborate with one another. It is Unity’s second such facility, preceded by their Waushara SHINES office in Wautoma. Both offices are funded through a regional Basic Needs Giving Partnership grant within the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region and the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation, grants from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, and generous donations from area individuals, families, and businesses.

The Unity Peer Recovery Center is open Monday through Friday, from 9am to 5pm; and by appointment on Saturdays. We will also be hosting recovery activities and events throughout the year. Unity Executive Director Todd Vander Galien and Program Coordinator Jack Klein, along with several volunteer recovery coaches and peer specialists, will assist visitors by linking them to services throughout the area, developing individualized recovery plans, and encouraging them to make healthy choices while taking ownership of their recovery.

Hands to Heart, LLC

Hands to Heart, LLC started in January 2004. We provide companies with life-saving skills training in CPR, AED, First Aide, Blood Borne Pathogens and Emergency Oxygen.

We also sell emergency care products:

  • AEDS (Automated external defibrillators)

  • CPR barriers

  • First Aid kits and Supplies.

Georgiana C. Paolillo, LMHC

New York Anxiety Treatment- Midwest

Georgiana Paolillo is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. She earned her Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Pace University, and completed her clinical internship at The Center for Cognitive Behavioral Psychotherapy in New York, New York, under Dr. Steve Phillipson. She completed her post-graduate hours under the supervision of Dr. Anna Edwards.

Georgiana provides virtual individual and group therapy for patients at New York Anxiety Treatment (NYAT). She specializes in empirically supported treatments for OCD and related disorders. She is a passionate exposure therapist, and has enjoyed working with Dr. Edwards to develop and facilitate the Exposure Lab group at NYAT. She is constantly inspired while working with her patients. Georgiana believes in goal oriented, motivational strategies to facilitate progress toward each individual’s treatment goals.

Georgiana recently relocated from New York City to Appleton, Wisconsin. She is excited to expand her practice to the Midwest, while continuing to work with her patients in New York in a virtual capacity.
